Job description
ROLE – Chemical Engineer

SALARY - £40,000- £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Hertfordshire

My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Chemical Engineer with a strong background in Design to join their team in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis.

The Chemical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 2-4 years’ or more of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Design skills with the ability to design new processes
  • A background in Water / Chemical / O&G / Aerospace related industries would also be ideal
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, etc.
  • Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication etc.
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities include:
  • Designing processes for equipment integration
  • Solving problems and improving engineering processes
  • Being involved in designing, implementing and overseeing project plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Liaising with other departments to manage such projects
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Ensuring quality and H&S standards are met
  • Design equipment layouts
  • Maintaining technical documentation as required
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
