Job Title: CHEFF (Cooking, Healthy Eating, Fitness & Fun) Community Outreach Worker

Salary: £15,916 paid pro rata depending on hours agreed.

Hours: Part time – up to 25 hours, number of hours negotiable. Flexible hours subject to negotiations, some after school hours required.

Directly Responsible To: CHEFF Manager

Purpose of Job

To work with the CHEFF Manager to deliver a community programme based on increasing access and participation using three main strands: physical activity, nutrition and community, for adults and young people, which will contribute to the overall Centre West mission of maximising the potential of people regardless of ability or background.

Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Delivery
  • To deliver and plan high quality food nutrition and cooking sessions to young people and families in community settings.
  • Work with third sector organisations and stakeholders to enhance the development of the community programme.
  • Providing regular reports to the CHEFF Manager on the success and impacts of the community programme.
Physical Activity
  • Provide safe, high quality, minimal cost, inclusive, accessible activities for all families.
  • Use physical activities to enhance knowledge of food education.
Nutrition
  • Encourage families to lead a healthier lifestyle through providing nutritional advice.
  • Include an element of providing healthy meals or snacks to all families to help tackle holiday hunger and food poverty.
Community
  • Promote and develop volunteer opportunities for the participants of the programme.
  • Ensure that the Company’s employment policies, procedures and practices are followed at all times and in compliance with all employment and health and safety legislation.
Fundraising / Income Generation
  • The role will be funded solely by the income raised by the postholder; therefore, you will be required to source and submit successful funding/grant applications with assistance from the CHEFF Manager, in order to sustain this post.
General
  • Comply with Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures and have a duty of care to yourself and your colleagues.
  • Observe the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Observe the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts.
  • Subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
  • Must be able to drive.
  • Mileage will be paid at 45p per mile for driving to and from venues during work hours.
