Job description

We are seeking a Chef to work Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm in a residential home in Chelmsford. This creates an excellent work life balance, with no evenings or late nights.

Responsibilities
  • Organised and a helpful leader in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Work from newly created menus to organise, prepare and serve appetising food, whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.
  • Inspects dishes for quality and attractiveness before serving.
  • Carry out weekly stock take and food rotation.
  • Achieve and maintain the budgeted food cost.
  • Instruct other staff in food prep and kitchen hygiene.
  • Instruct staff on required cleaning duties to maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene within the unit.
  • Demonstrate excellent standards of customer service.
  • Maintain records relating to food production activities and supplier information.
Qualifications
  • Friendly, outgoing, ambitious & energetic.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality kitchens.
  • Professional attitude to your job and career.
  • Previous chef experience with references.
  • Experience in basic kitchen management.
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK.
