University of Bristol is seeking a Chef for the Catering & Events Services team. The role operates on a term-time contract (34 weeks per year) at 35 hours per week with paid overtime.
The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality, responsibly-sourced meals for students, staff and visitors on a campus-wide dining program. Key duties include preparing varied nutritious meals to a high standard, assisting with menu planning for all meals and events, and ensuring hygiene and food safety

The position comes on a term time contract (34 weeks a year, 35 hour/week), with paid overtime, 25 days annual leave plus 8 days for bank holidays and a further 6-9 days for university closure days. The successful candidate will prepare varied nutritious meals to a high standard specified by the Head chef and Manager.
Assisting the Head Chef in planning the menus for all meals, functions and special occasions.
Meeting the required standards of hygiene and food safety by monitoring cleaning schedules and food and equipment temperatures.
Assisting the head chef in the continual training of staff and induction and training of temporary staff.
Assist in the preparation of orders for the purchase of provisions and monitoring deliveries ensuring deliveries are accurate and stores correctly.
Work pattern: Term time only - 35 hours
