Job summary

Bupa Hadley Lawns Care Home in Barnet is seeking a Chef Manager on a bank contract to lead a fresh food kitchen that serves residents with varied, nutritious menus. You will manage the kitchen team, train staff, ensure high standards and compliance with COSHH and HACCP while handling orders, budgets and deliveries.

A passion for cooking and hygiene certificates are essential, with a focus on mentoring staff and delivering an excellent dining experience.

• A passion for cooking with previous experience in a fresh food kitchen and hygiene certificates.
• Natural leadership, open to new ideas with an innovative approach to cooking and high standards.
• Mentoring and supporting others, sharing your love of food with residents.

Responsibilities

• Using your passion for cooking to create a varied and nutritional menu in line with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Train and mentor the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience.
• Maintain high standards and be innovative in cooking.
• Manage all mandatory paperwork, COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, orders and deliveries.
• Cater for special events or seasonal activities as required.

• Using your passion for cooking and experience in a fresh food kitchen to create a varied and nutritional menu in line with the dietary needs and preferences of our residents
• Using your natural leadership skills to train and mentor the kitchen team to deliver an excellent dining experience
• Being innovative in your approach to cooking and maintaining high standards
• Managing all mandatory paperwork including: adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

• A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates. You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home.
• You’re a natural leader, open to new ideas with an innovative approach to cooking, always maintaining high standards.
• You’ll enjoy mentoring and supporting others and you’ll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.
