The Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Chef Manager to lead our catering services within the Yeovil Hub. The Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership is a multi-academy trust dedicated to providing an outstanding education and enriching school experience for all students. We pride ourselves on the quality of our school meals and are committed to the principles of the 'Food for Life Partnership Scheme', ensuring students receive nutritious, high-quality and imaginative dishes. This exciting and varied role is based primarily at Preston School but also involves covering Bucklers Mead Academy, both located in Yeovil. While the Yeovil Hub is your base, you must be prepared to travel occasionally to other catering units within a reasonable distance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership: Prepare, cook and produce an imaginative range of nutritionally balanced dishes.
  • Strategy & Development: Assist the Trust Head of Catering with the development and delivery of a catering strategy aligned with the 'Food for Life Partnership Scheme'.
  • Team Management: Supervise and develop the catering staff, setting objectives for maximum effectiveness.
  • Health & Safety: Manage daily health and safety, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including COSHH and HACCP.
  • Financial Control: Work within the Trust's financial budget, managing costs, ordering all food from nominated suppliers and maintaining efficient stock control.
  • Administration: Manage the cashless catering system and complete monthly stock takes.
  • Menu Planning: Assist with menu planning, portion control, nutrition analysis and the provision of special dietary requirements.
