Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager for Weobley High School in the Hereford area to ensure nutritionally balanced, tasty meals for students and staff. The role leads a contract catering kitchen on a school site and requires strong leadership and culinary expertise.

The position is 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, term-time only (38 weeks per year), with a salary of £21,000–£22,000 per annum. DBS check is expected and full catering responsibilities are covered.

Qualifications

• Essential Requirements – Proven experience leading and managing a contract catering kitchen operation.
• Preferred Qualifications – Diploma in Professional Cookery or equivalent professional culinary qualification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client.
• Ensure location meets statutory and company Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental requirements.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for excellent food and service; exceed client expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the site; supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets; implement action plans.
• Be the main school contact; recommend and implement regular adjustments and improvements.
• Report KPIs and financial targets to line manager; ensure targets are met.
• Lead training; develop and manage staff performance.

Job Description

We are hiring for a Chef Manager at Weobley High School in the Hereford Area, who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food.

The Role

• £21,000 - £22,000 per annum
• 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
• Term Time Only Contract – Working 38 Weeks Per Year

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
• To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
• To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded
• To be responsible for the day-to­day running of the location and supervising teams including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• To be the main point of contact for the school ensuring that regular adjustments and improvements are recommended and implemented
• Communicating regularly with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets to ensure these are achieved
• Supporting and training teams, leading from the front to ensure all training is completed and performance is managed
