Chef Manager

Green Gates Care Home, 2 Hernes Road, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7PT

CQC rating: Good

Salary: Depends on experience, annual bonus £2,000, welcome bonus £1,000 upon completion of four weeks.

Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week with alternative weekends.

Overview

Green Gates offers residential nursing, palliative, post‑operative and respite care. As Chef Manager you will create a varied and nutritional menu, train staff and ensure high standards in dining service.

Responsibilities
  • Using your passion for cooking and experience in a fresh food kitchen to create a varied and nutritional menu in line with residents’ dietary needs.
  • Using your natural leadership skills to train and mentor the kitchen team.
  • Being innovative in your approach to cooking and maintaining high standards.
  • Managing all mandatory paperwork: COSHH, HACCP, company policies, budgets, orders and deliveries.
  • Catering for special events or seasonal activities such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays.
Qualifications
  • A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates.
  • A natural leader, open to new ideas, with an innovative approach to cooking and high standards.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting others, and enjoying moments with residents.
