Overview

Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of more than 410,000 people living in North-West Surrey, parts of Hounslow and beyond. Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of high‑quality patient and retail catering services.
  • Manage the Ashford retail and patient catering teams.
  • Assist planning, procurement, production and service of high‑quality, freshly made, nutritious and well‑presented food and refreshments for patients, staff and visitors in a safe and well‑managed environment.
  • Work as part of a rota to provide food services from 7 am to 7 pm, 365 days per year – flexibility and short‑notice cover may be required.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day management of patient catering and retail services, lead, motivate and train the team to deliver a quality service.
  • Produce high‑quality food and drink that meets the Trust’s staff well‑being objectives.
  • Manage the production and development of all retail food items, including menu creation and costings.
  • Implement Food Safety and all Health and Safety legislation as outlined in the Trust Health and Safety Manual (COSHH, Safety Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, procedures for cleaning chemicals and manual handling).
  • Oversee patient catering and retail payroll, handle payroll queries, review leave and sickness records, and ensure all staff records are up to date.
  • Lead training on special diets and allergens, support housekeeping ward staffing with portion controls, food hygiene levels, and refreshment of HACCP procedures as needed.
  • Support the supervisor by ensuring the team reports for duty on time, maintains clean and tidy uniforms, upholds high personal grooming standards, and leads by example.
