Do you want to transform your career and pass on your hospitality and catering experience to the next generation? Activate Learning are recruiting a chef to teach, assess and support our apprenticeship provision. You will be responsible for the delivery, assessment, and tracking student achievement for the courses. This post provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. This is a permanent, part‑time role, working 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE), teaching at our Reading College campus on Mondays and performing reviews with learners with employers throughout the rest of the week. These hours could be condensed into two days per week, or remain flexible depending on your availability.
You will be responsible for the delivery, assessment, and tracking student achievement for the courses. Communication with industry partners is also a requirement for this role as we work closely with hotel chains, local restaurants, and contract catering employers to supply work placement, apprenticeships, mentorships and masterclass demonstrations for our students.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK; we do not sponsor work permits. Successful applicants will be required to undergo a DBS check at the appropriate level. Some positions may require a legally mandated health surveillance check for exposure to hazardous conditions.
