The Wight Mouse Inn is a family-run country pub with stunning sea views, a busy kitchen, and a long-standing reputation for great food and warm hospitality. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Manager to join and support our hardworking kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess both strong leadership & organisational skills.

About the Role

As Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a hands‑on role in the day‑to‑day running of our bustling kitchen — leading by example to deliver consistent, high‑quality pub classics and seasonal specials.

You’ll help manage stock, maintain high food safety standards, and support our chefs to work efficiently in a friendly, well‑organised environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service
  • Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene (Level 2/3 Food Hygiene preferred)
  • Manage ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Support menu planning and specials
  • Maintain effective communication between front-of‑house and kitchen staff to deliver excellent guest experiences

  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment in a supervisory or management role
  • A hands‑on, team‑focused leader with excellent organisational skills
