Overview

Are you a culinary enthusiast with a flair for flavour and a love for creating delicious meals? We’re looking for a talented Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at the newly renovated Congleton Park Café.

This isn’t just any catering role—you’ll have the creative freedom to propose your own specialty dishes and help shape a menu that keeps guests coming back for more. Whether it’s a quick lunchtime bite, family meal, or a hearty Sunday roast, you’ll be part of the team making people smile.

Responsibilities

• Be hands-on with prepping and cooking, stocking and ordering; lead your team, keep the kitchen area clean and compliant with food hygiene standards, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Propose, develop, and bring to life menu ideas and specialty dishes.
• Take ownership of culinary ideas and the day-to-day operational flow in the kitchen.
• Responsible for food and hygiene safety, and training staff.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have at least one year of cooking experience.

Benefits/Hours

• Bonus: hours are great — minimal late nights, with a dedicated rota that supports a healthy work-life balance.
• Salary: £25,707
• Contracted roles follow a three-point grading structure, with the opportunity to advance annually through the PDR (Performance & Development Review) process.
• Hours: Full Time - 37 hrs/week. Shifts typically between 8am-7pm; later hours may occasionally be required for pre-booked events at Congleton Park Café.
• Location: Congleton Park Café & Leisure Centre. Role based at Congleton Park Café; kitchen management will extend to the nearby Congleton Leisure Centre with occasional site-work as needed.
