Compass Group UK & Ireland in the UK is seeking a skilled Chef De Partie to join our catering team at a prestigious Independent School. You will prepare fresh, high-quality dishes daily, working alongside an experienced team to deliver excellent service to pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure dishes are prepared, cooked and presented to required standards within your section.
• Comply with all health and safety procedures and standards at all times.
• Run a section of the kitchen to required standards and train junior staff.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes to standard and portion specifications.
• Direct commis chefs or kitchen assistants in your section and manage waste.
• Assist with processing orders and receiving deliveries.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens and working areas and proper equipment use.

What you'll be doing:

• Ensuring dishes are prepared, cooked and presented to the required standards and specifications within your section/speciality in accordance with food safety procedures
• Comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times including adherence to food information regulations and food safety checks
• Run a section of the kitchen to the required standards
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standards and portion specifications within your section/speciality
• Directing the tasks and training any commis chefs or kitchen assistants working in your section
• Ensuring food is recovered and stored correctly to minimise waste
• Assist with the processing of food orders
• Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries
• Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas
• Ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment
• Perform other general tasks to support effective food service delivery as reasonably requested

Who you are:

• Passionate and aims to cook to the highest quality freshest food possible
• Strong and consistent Chef De Partie background
• Good motivator and able to work well within a team
• Have excellent culinary skills with great attention to detail
• A creative thinker with sound knowledge of the latest food trends and fashions
• Have sound knowledge of hygiene, health and safety requirements
• Self-motivated withthe ability to work in a pressurised environment
• Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
• Immaculate personal presentation, outgoing, passionate, excellent customer service and communication skills are required for this highly visible position
• Must be able to drive
• Enhanced DBS required - must be willing to wait a number of weeks for this to come through
