Job summary

A luxury restaurant on Islay is looking for a Chef de Partie/Sous Chef for an immediate start by 6th January. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting dishes to Rosette standard while maintaining hygiene standards. Applicants must have experience in a quality kitchen and a passion for seasonal produce. Accommodation is available for £200 per month.

Overview

Chef de Partie / Sous Chef – Luxury Rosette Restaurant, Islay

Location: Islay, Inner Hebrides. Contract: Immediate start – until 6th January. Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days from 7. Pay: £18.25 per hour. Accommodation: Available (£200 per month).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to Rosette standard.
  • Work efficiently within a small team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Support the Head Chef in menu planning and daily specials.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in line with current legislation.
  • Ensure stock control and assist with ordering and inventory management.
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal dishes and presentation.
  • Supervise and train junior staff as required (for Sous Chef applicants).
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef in a quality restaurant or hotel kitchen.
  • A passion for fresh, local, and seasonal produce.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a small, close-knit team.
  • Right to work in the UK (proof required).
  • Basic Disclosure Certificate (cost will be refunded).
