We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team for the night shift at our esteemed restaurant in Gateshead, United Kingdom. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during evening hours, maintaining our high standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing junior staff and ensuring an efficient workflow
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning and implementation
  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations
  • Monitor and control stock levels, minimising waste and maintaining cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated food service
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures
  • Adapt to the fast‑paced environment of night shift operations while ensuring consistent food quality during peak hours
  • Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items as required
  • Maintain a clean and organi­sed workstation throughout the shift and lead by example in protecting the planet and supporting local communities
Qualifications
  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
  • Proven experience working night shifts in a professional kitchen environment
  • Strong culinary expertise and proficiency in various cooking techniques
  • In‑depth knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certification
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods in a kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Pay & Hours
  • £13.50 per hour
  • 35 hours per week
  • Shift: 8:00 PM – 3:30 AM
  • 5 days over 7, competitive pay
  • Day shifts only, every other weekend off
