Job summary

This is a temporary Chef de Partie role at Avery Healthcare's care home in Chertsey. The successful candidate will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides high-quality, nutritious meals for the residents. The role requires relevant catering qualifications, food hygiene certification, and at least 1 year of catering experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, supporting cost-effective stock control, and working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu. You will also participate in meetings with residents and heads of departments to discuss catering functions and address special dietary requirements.

Your focus as Chef de Partie will be to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service, which contributes to the overall wellbeing of the residents.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.
