Overview

This is a Chef de Partie role at Avery Healthcare, a leading provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The role involves supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for the residents. The successful candidate will have a catering qualification, food hygiene certification, and at least 1 year of catering experience.

Main duties

Your focus as Chef de Partie will be to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team that provides a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive and high-quality culinary service, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the residents. Responsibilities include:

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost-effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.

Role focus

  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
