At Crowne Plaza Newcastle - Stephenson Quarter's, our city centre hotel is located in the heart of Newcastle and boasts 251 luxurious bedrooms, including accessible and family rooms, and nine purpose‑built meeting rooms in our conference centre.

A day in the life of…

As a Chef de Partie, your key responsibilities include preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes within your specialty. You are also responsible for managing and training any demi‑chefs de parties or commis working with you, helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus, and ensuring that you and your team maintain high standards of food hygiene and follow health and safety regulations. Additionally, monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins is a crucial part of your role. By fulfilling these responsibilities, you play a vital role in ensuring the success of the kitchen and all hotel food and beverage operations.

What do we need from you?
  • Great cooking skills and a deep understanding of different ingredients, flavours, and cooking techniques.
  • A cool head and the ability to work well under pressure, with strong organisational skills to manage your section effectively.
  • A commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including adherence to food safety regulations and proper use of kitchen equipment and cleaning products.
  • Understanding of profit margins to ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and profitably.
Shift Patterns (may vary according to business needs):

Early Shift: 07:00 - 15:30 or 08:00 - 14:30

Mid Shift: 10:00 - 18:30 or 13:30 - 22:00

Late Shift: 13:30 - 22:00 or 14:00 - 22:30

Contract Details:

This position is for weekends and weekdays, with a 40‑hour a week contract across five days.
