Job summary

Sodexo Group is recruiting for a chef role at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester. The position offers 40 hours per week with shifts 6.30am-2.30pm or 11am-7pm, 5 days across a 7-day pattern. The rate of pay is £14.50-£15.00 per hour, with Sodexo Benefits.

The role requires preparing fresh meals, ensuring safety and quality, and contributing to a positive kitchen team. Located in Manchester the site benefits from strong transport links and a vibrant cultural setting.

Qualifications

• Passion for fresh food and high-quality cooking.
• Experience preparing and cooking fresh food in high-volume environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh food to a consistently high standard.
• Support the delivery of efficient daily food service.
• Ensure all food is prepared safely and in line with dietary and allergen requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Complete food safety records, cleaning schedules and stock-related administration.
• Replenish food and equipment throughout service periods.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and Catering Manager to deliver exceptional standards.
• Support school events, functions and hospitality services as required.
• Follow all health & safety, food safety and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
• Report any issues, incidents or concerns promptly.
• Assist with other kitchen duties and reasonable management requests as needed.

What You Will Do
