Hurworth House are recruiting for a cook to join their catering team! We are looking for passionate people, who can promote healthy eating and provide varied meals that meet the required care standards and contribute to the wellbeing of our Children and Young People. In this role, you will be responsible for cooking within the home as well as menu planning, shopping and adhering to set budgets within the home to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious diets for young people and the staff within the home. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and associated areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene, including food and equipment storage.

Hurworth House School provides specialist education for boys and girls with SEMH difficulties and autism. Our staff are highly trained, skilled and experienced in supporting and educating our children, many of whom have a co‑m‑bid diagnosis. The school is registered to provide education to up to 80 students aged between 5 and 19 years. We have a discrete primary provision and separate middle and upper schools.
A Level 3 qualification or equivalent is an essential requirement, as well as previous experience preparing and cooking meals gained within a professional kitchen environment along with the following characteristics:
