This is a temporary Chef role at Barchester Healthcare, a leading UK healthcare provider with over 224 homes and hospitals across the country. The role involves creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor the menus to their preferences. Main duties of the job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal food and enjoy a better work-life balance compared to traditional restaurant/hotel settings. You will assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen, creating high-quality dishes, and leading and motivating a team. The role requires experience in working with fresh, seasonal produce, a good understanding of nutrition, and the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment for residents.

Job responsibilities

Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • Good understanding of HACCP

  • Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Work fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
