Nazareth in Bonnyrigg is seeking a Chef to assist in the preparation and provision of meals for residents, manage day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene requirements. You will work with the Catering Manager to deliver high‑quality catering, demonstrate good communication, flexibility and time management, and contribute to a smooth, well‑run service.
Training is provided and DBS/PVG costs are covered, with wellbeing support and the Blue Light Card
We have an opportunity for a Chef position at our care home. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and provision of meals, have the responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.
As a Chef, you will prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations, providing high quality catering for our residents. The role would suit someone who has a passionate about food and can delivery good quality catering services. The ideal person for this role would have good communication skills, flexible approach, have the ability to prioritise tasks and have excellent time management skills.
A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and an understand of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points is essential. S/NVQ level 2 in Catering and Hospitality would be desirable.
