A new care home in Welwyn Garden City is looking for a Chef to join a supportive team. This full-time position offers a fresh approach to catering, avoiding split shifts and late nights. The Chef will prepare and present nutritious meals, supervise junior staff, and assist in menu planning. Salary: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full time – includes alternate weekends
Welwyn Grange is a brand new care home, set within the heart of the community in Welwyn Garden City. We will be bringing a fresher approach to residential, nursing and support.
This is a superb opportunity for a talented, experienced and self‑motivated Chef to assist the team to deliver efficient and enticing menus for our residents.
If you are fed up working split shifts, late nights and every weekend but still love working in the kitchen then this could be the role for you!
With previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, your duties will include preparing, cooking and presenting appetizing, balanced and varied nutritious foods.
Ensuring that the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times and the environment is safe you will also supervise and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants to be efficient within their roles, and deputise in the absence of the Head Chef.
You will support the Head Chef in producing menus that are accessible to all residents and reflect season changes, as well as offering a choice, therefore previous care home experience and knowledge of IDDSI would be an advantage.
