Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Chef to join our team at our client’s Care Home in Biggar. Full-Time Chef, 5 days from 7 between 7am - 7pm & No Late Nights!

Responsibilities

Working in a Care Home as a Chef can be a challenging, however, a very rewarding role to undertake. While you still have the challenge of ensuring the food you prepare is of a high standard, the hours of work are more sociable and allow you to have a better “work, life balance”.

You will need to know how to adapt meals to make them suitable for residents with different dietary needs and be skilled at creating healthy balanced meals for everyone. You will be aware and responsible for ensuring that good nutritional meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As well as preparing and cooking meals you may be responsible for managing and ordering the supplies, menu creation and ensuring the kitchen and equipment meets all health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Ideally, you should have some previous experience working within a Care Home or in a commercial kitchen with an SVQ/ NVQ qualification in food preparation or cooking. Enjoy working as part of a team, in a busy, fast paced environment with a passion for providing the very best dining experience for our residents.
