Job summary

Restaurant Associates UK is hiring a Chef for RAF Museum London in Hendon. The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food across retail cafés and conference catering, in a busy, high-volume environment.

You will join a kitchen team delivering fresh meals with attention to quality, safety and customer experience. The position requires experience in contract catering and flexibility for a weekend/shift rota at a historic venue in London.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Chef, Chef de Partie or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Experience in contract catering, visitor attractions, hospitality or high-volume catering is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene, HACCP and health & safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Service – Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard across all service areas.
  • Quality Standards – Ensure all dishes meet company and client expectations for quality, presentation and taste.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene – Maintain excellent food hygiene standards and comply with all food safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Stock Management – Assist with stock control, rotation and minimising wastage.
  • Teamwork – Work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.
  • Event Catering Support – Assist in the preparation and delivery of catering for conferences, functions and large-scale events.

Job description

Location: RAF Museum London, Hendon
Salary: £14.28 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days

As a Chef at the RAF Museum London, you will play an important role within one of the UK’s most historic and inspiring aviation attractions, helping to deliver high-quality food across the site. Working as part of the kitchen team, you will support the preparation and service of food for both the retail visitor café and the conference & events catering operation.

This venue is predominantly retail food-led, making it an excellent opportunity for a chef with experience in high-volume food production and a passion for delivering quality dishes. Success in this role means ensuring visitors consistently enjoy fresh, well-prepared food, whether dining in the café or attending conferences and events at the RAF Museum London.
