Overview

We are currently recruiting experienced Chefs to work on a temporary agency basis within elderly care homes. This is a rewarding role where your cooking directly improves residents' health, wellbeing, and quality of life. You'll be preparing nutritious, home-style meals that meet dietary, cultural, and medical needs, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, balanced meals for residents
• Cater for special diets (pureed, soft, diabetic, low salt, allergies, etc.)
• Maintain high food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards
• Manage stock, food rotation, and portion control
• Work independently or as part of a small kitchen team
• Follow care home policies and safeguarding procedures

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally in a care home, hospital, school, or similar setting
• Knowledge of special diets and elderly nutrition
• Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, professional, and compassionate
• Ability to work flexible shifts
• Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
