Chef – Trenchard Line (ESS – Compass Group)

Location: Trenchard Line – Defence, Government & Energy services sector of Compass Group UK & Ireland.

Salary: £29,754 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week (full‑time, site‑based)

Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 – working one weekend in four.

Meal Service Times:
Breakfast: 07:15 – 08:30
Lunch: 12:30 – 13:30
Dinner: 18:00 – 19:30

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef to join our catering team at Trenchard Line. You will be responsible for preparing and serving fresh, high‑quality meals in a take‑out style service, supporting a close‑knit team that delivers excellent food and service standards for around 30‑60 Service Personnel per meal. Numbers increase during functions, exercises or when more personnel are on site, so flexibility and teamwork are key.

• Previous experience in a catering or chef role – essential
• Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) – desirable
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible, reliable, and positive attitude
