Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced administrator to work within the Central area Continuing Health Care Team. The post holder will provide full administrative support, act as first point of contact for all referrals and enquiries to the CHC Team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide full administrative support and act as first point of contact for all referrals and enquiries to the CHC Team.
  • Manage diaries, resolve conflicting diary appointments, organise meetings, prepare meeting papers, take minutes, source and provide information when required, and collate reports.
  • Ensure all communications with members of the public, staff and other agencies are handled confidentially and professionally, aiding the delivery of a high‑quality service.
  • Demonstrate excellent and advanced communication skills on confidential issues such as disputes or complaints when dealing with telephone calls and correspondence from members of the public, health professionals, local authorities and non‑NHS organisations.
  • Assist the CHC Team Administrator in all aspects of administration relating to NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC), Funded Registered Nursing Care (FNC) discharge from hospital, delayed transfers of care and any associated schemes or bids.
  • Take telephone messages in the absence of the CHC Team and signpost callers to the correct person.
  • Monitor and ensure correct panel outcomes, apply information to the Broadcare system and liaise with the finance department regarding any change in funding or accommodation (deceased, new patients, amendments).
  • Produce reports for the team and CHC Team Managers when required.
  • Manage the departmental BCU application mailbox and carry out appropriate action.
  • Maintain and manage electronic diaries for the CHC Operational Manager, Team Manager and Nurse Reviewers.
  • Ensure letters relating to ratified, deferred or disputed CHC applications are completed and sent to the relevant parties.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
