Job summary

RSK Group in Exeter seeks a Principal Structural Engineer nearing chartership to lead structural designs for residential and commercial projects. You will undertake site surveys and inspections to verify design integrity and ensure compliance with standards.

The role requires knowledge of UK Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, and proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD, with experience in RC, steel and masonry design; you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to value engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Progress towards Chartered status (ICE or IStructE).
• Proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience designing reinforced concrete, steelwork and load-bearing masonry structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver structural designs across multiple projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery and adherence to engineering strategies.
• Undertake site surveys and structural inspections to verify design integrity and compliance with standards.
• Maintain knowledge of legislation, design codes and industry standards.
• Coordinate scheme design and value engineering with the design team.
• Coordinate programme, communication and multidisciplinary involvement for project delivery.
• Develop technical and management expertise through CPD and training.
