Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer or in training towards chartered status.
  • Effective resource utilization and client relationship skills required.
  • Experience in design for Sustainable drainage systems is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design delivery programmes and maintain communication within the project team.
  • Support and mentor engineers and technicians in design development.
  • Ensure that schedules and resources are correctly planned and projects remain within budget.

Overview

We have an opening for an ideally Chartered Principal Civil Engineer to join an employee owned and award-winning engineering consultancy. This position is based out of their Cardiff office working on a variety of infrastructure projects. You’ll be apart of a team of 10+ UK offices who strive for happy people delivering innovative and sustainable work for happy clients, whilst enhancing the world around them along the way.

The role
  • The role will involve leading design delivery programmes, ensuring that the project team are always in communication and schedules and resources are planned appropriately.
  • You will also be supporting and mentoring other engineers and technicians in the development of our design and project information.
  • You will be developing delivery programmes, ensuring the project team is coordinated and that schedules and resources are planned appropriately and projects delivered within budget.
What you need to succeed
  • You will be chartered or actively working under a recognised professional Institution training pathway and approaching chartered status
  • To have experience in effective utilisation of resources, projects, and client relationships.
  • You must have experience in the concept and detailed design for Sustainable drainage systems.
  • To be comfortable leading design teams and liaising with Authorities.
  • Good working knowledge of Civil 3D for drainage networks.
  • You will have extensive experience in SuDS, FRA's and engaging with Local drainage Authorities, as well as experience in leading and managing civil design projects.
  • Experience of engaging with SAB Authorities and designing SuDS in Wales would be beneficial.
