Job summary

Lambert Smith Hampton in London is seeking a Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy department. You will work with occupier, investor, developer, and public sector clients to deliver blended property and construction advice.

The role involves inspections, preparing specifications, and managing repair/refurbishment projects, with opportunities for business development and mentoring junior staff within a growing team.

Qualifications

• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor with post-qualification experience, ideally in a commercial consultancy.
• Proven ability to develop new business and mentor junior staff.
• Strong technical surveying experience and report writing.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building inspections and produce professional reports with clear findings.
• Prepare technical specifications and oversee repair/refurbishment contracts.
• Develop and negotiate dilapidation schedules and exit strategies.
• Create planned preventative maintenance programmes to safeguard long-term asset value.
• Conduct reinstatement cost evaluations for insurance/compliance.
• Assist with portfolio coordination and other duties as required.
• Build lasting client relationships and provide high-quality service.
