Description

CHPK Group is a leading multi‑disciplinary consultancy specialising in Building Surveying, Cost Consultancy, and Professional Services. From our London headquarters in Liverpool Street, we deliver trusted advice and technical expertise to a broad client base — including corporate occupiers, investment funds, and developers.

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying and Professional Services team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering high‑quality consultancy services across the commercial property sector. You’ll lead the technical delivery of projects, provide expert advice to clients, and mentor junior team members.

This position offers exposure to a diverse range of work — from technical due diligence and dilapidations to refurbishment, project management, and contract administration. You’ll also have opportunities to support business development, collaborate with our Propitas colleagues, and contribute to the continued growth of CHPK Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver a variety of Building Surveying services, including:
  • Dilapidations – representing both landlords and tenants, including advice, preparation, and negotiation.
  • Technical Due Diligence – conducting surveys and preparing reports for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
  • Design & Contract Administration – managing refurbishment and fit‑out projects from inception to completion.
  • Project Management and Employer’s Agent duties across commercial projects.
  • Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition, and PPM reporting.
Reinstatement Cost Assessments and feasibility studies
  • Ensure technical accuracy, quality, and consistency across all project deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed timescales, budgets, and expectations.
  • Mentor Graduate and Building Surveyors, including providing APC support and technical review.
  • Contribute to business development, networking, and client engagement to grow CHPK Group’s Building Surveying offering.
  • Actively share knowledge and best practices, promoting technical excellence across the company.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of current legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Prepare and present reports, specifications, and cost estimates with professionalism and commercial awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams – including Cost Consultancy, Project Management, and Engineering – to deliver integrated client solutions.
Key Skills & Attributes
  • Strong technical, contractual, and regulatory knowledge, particularly within commercial Building Surveying.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
  • Commercially astute with a sound understanding of market trends and client priorities.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team‑oriented, with a commitment to collaboration across CHPK and Propitas.
  • Confident representing CHPK Group at client and industry events.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel to sites across London and occasionally nationwide.
