Job description

We are currently looking to employ an enthusiastic individual who is looking to further develop their current skills to develop into a professional, compassionate band 6 Charge nurse within the Paediatric emergency department/Paediatric assessment unit.

Here at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, We run a 24 hours 7 days a week service working in a large multi-disciplinary team delivery a wide range of care to our service users.

You will have great opportunities to develop their managerial skills whilst working within the department by ensuring patient safety across all paediatric departments, a good flow through A&A and support their junior team and their well-being. You will be actively involved in looking after the sick child, managing the department and managing staff i.e. sickness. You will also be given opportunities to support positive change within the service. You will be responsible for the department in the absence of a senior nurse. You will be given the skills and knowledge of both areas to be able to flexibly work between both to ensure safety of patients and good skill mix.
