The role of the Change Manager is to manage and deliver change across the breadth of UK Bank. The role will manage end to end change, from scoping the initial business idea through development, pilot and testing to implementation, enabling improvements for our colleagues and customers that align with UK Bank’s strategic goals.

The Change Manager will work seamlessly with all HSBC UK brands and lines of business utilising a range of change skills and methodologies e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Waterfall. Delivering a wide variety of change e.g. propositional changes, streamlining, continuous improvement, E2E change management deliveries.

This secondment will run from the 1st Jan until 30th Dec 2026.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage complex change initiatives - Understand the needs of the business and define plans that encourage iterative deployment. Demonstrate agility, reduce lead time, and remain connected to the leadership agenda
  • Manage change delivery at a project / initiative level. Ensure change is landed collaboratively, effectively and safely
  • Have some influence inside of the department with regards to how change is delivered within UK Bank, Support Change Leads and business leads, understanding the business propositions and driving delivery of benefits
  • Support capability uplift within the department aligned to the people strategy, develop professional capabilities within the department that support an increased effectiveness of Change Execution, often coaching others ‘on the job’ to enhance their skills and contribution
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Experience of delivering change with a strong understanding of the change lifecycle
  • Pragmatic and practical with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan change and manage risks.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring buy in and engagement

This role is hybrid and the base location for this role can be Chester, Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham or Hamilton
