Responsibilities
  • Operating Room Preparation: Setting up the surgical suite with necessary equipment and supplies for gynecological procedures.
  • Surgical Assistance: Collaborating closely with surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, ensuring a sterile field is maintained.
  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitoring patient vital signs, condition, and reactions during and after surgery.
  • Post-Operative Care: Providing immediate post-operative care, including wound care and pain management, and educating patients on recovery at home.
  • Sterile Environment: Strictly adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and maintain a sterile environment in the OR.
  • Documentation: Accurately documenting all aspects of patient care, including surgical procedures, medications, and patient responses.
  • Patient & Family Education: Educating patients and their families about the surgical process, what to expect during recovery, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Patient Advocacy: Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected throughout their surgical journey.
  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff, to ensure seamless and comprehensive patient care.
