Our client are a precision manufacturing business, based in Birmingham, specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components. Working within the Engineering Team, the Graduate CFD Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and developing the existing company product range and creating solutions to customer problems from within this portfolio primarily into the naval marine sector but also other marketplaces including civil nuclear.

Job Description

As a Graduate CFD simulation engineer in this pivotal role, you will work with both Engineering Research and Development and areas to develop the mechanical and fluidics modelling, definition development, and delivery of system level models, consisting of multiple interconnected components, from different engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop CFD system models and perform functional/non-functional analyses to support hardware and product design.
  • Create and refine functional and physical models, recommending design optimizations based on simulation results.
  • Lead model testing, verification, validation, and cross-functional design reviews.
  • Produce and maintain system documentation, technical reports, and project plans from concept through production release.
  • Establish standards and processes for future CFD functions and support external partner selection.
  • Manage projects to meet schedule, budget, and compliance with European and international standards.
  • Support engineering processes, validation requirements, and testing activities in collaboration with technicians and cross-functional teams.
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills
  • Must be degree qualified with a CFD module included in the degree.
  • Must have completed a CFD related final year project.
  • Must be eager to grow and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn.
  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates MUST be eligible for SC Clearance.
