Job summary

The James Fisher and Sons plc Certificate Controller role in Aberdeenshire is a full-time, permanent position focused on ensuring all work complies with certification, regulatory and documentation standards for our defence and maritime projects.

You will coordinate with Quality, Compliance, Manufacturing and Supplier Management to maintain CoCs, material certificates, pressure test records and FAT/SAT documentation, while aligning with PLM controls and internal HSSEQ requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in certification control and document management.
• Knowledge of IMCA, DNV, ISO 9001 and welding standards.
• Attention to detail and disciplined document control.
• Ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure complete, accurate certification packs for each build or project.
• Maintain all certification documentation (CoCs, material certificates, pressure test records, FAT/SAT docs).
• Oversee adherence to project-specific Control Plans aligned with QA processes.
• Collaborate with Document Controllers for versioning and archiving in PLM.
• Ensure compliance with IMCA, DNV, ABS, Lloyd’s and internal HSSEQ requirements.
• Prepare project-specific certification dossiers for delivery and audits.
• Support teams in understanding certification requirements (weld procedures, material traceability, calibration).
• Monitor certification trends, identify defects, and drive preventive improvements.
