Job description
Overview

Voyant is a disruptive software company, spun out from University of Liverpool with proprietary algorithms for tracking and data fusion. These significantly enhance the sensing capability of radar, sonar, acoustic, optical and EW as well as assisting in autonomous navigation. Defence is the main segment.

The Company is growing quickly and is looking for a full-time CEO to lead the Company and grow it. The CEO will be supported by an experienced board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the company’s strategic vision, business plan, and market positioning.
  • Drive business development, developing the marketing and product awareness.
  • Generate key partnerships with industry players – Primes, SMEs and within UK MOD and other allied nations.
  • Lead the sales function of the Company directly, and eventually hire and develop this function generally.
  • Oversee product development working with the CTO and support to build an operationally-excellent team.
  • Lead on R&D contracts and grants.
  • Financial management and planning to drive strong financial outcomes in line with stakeholders, and on fundraising where required.
  • Maintain compliance, governance, quality and security standards appropriate for defence software solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven commercial leadership experience, ideally in defence, software, or other high-security industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills as well as line managing experience.
  • Experience of one or more target markets e.g. radars, EW, autonomous navigation, sonar.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and cybersecurity standards.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of scaling early-stage businesses.
  • UK National with SC security clearance preferred.
