Job description
Overview

We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Centre Supervisor to lead the team at our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Tattershall. As Centre Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring it operates efficiently and in full compliance with the Environment Agency's Environmental Permit and our robust Health and Safety procedures. You'll support the public in disposing of their waste responsibly, while maximising opportunities for re-use and recycling. You'll also manage the Re-use Shop at Tattershall HWRC, working closely with the wider Waste Services team on initiatives that promote waste minimisation, recycling, and deliver social value to Lincolnshire residents. If you value and promote high standards of housekeeping and safety, customer service and are conscientious about the environment and being supportive of your team, this could be the job for you.

Responsibilities
  • Welcomes and assists the public with correct waste disposal
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and well-organised site
  • Responds to on-site issues or emergencies promptly and professionally
  • Has experience in waste management
  • Holds or is willing to work towards a Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC)
  • Can work independently and lead a team with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Is confident engaging with the public and promoting environmental best practices
  • Has experience with site maintenance and can identify and resolve issues early
  • Is IT literate and comfortable maintaining records and handling data
  • Has strong communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
  • Is physically fit enough to assist with manual handling when needed
