Central Operations Manager
Worthing, West Sussex

Full time, Temporary – 9 Month fixed term contract/Maternity Cover

Up to £40,000 per year (pro rata) plus a £5,000 performance-based bonus (paid annually – pro rata depending on length of contract)

Led by Kim, you’ll spend your time overseeing the daily management of operations for our Field Support Team; Emily, Abbie, Emily, Tara and Issy, and our Resource Planner; Becca.

You’ll be directly responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the field team daily operations, remote workforce scheduling and our business processes. You’ll manage the support desk for a remote workforce, ensuring seamless communication, timely responses and collaboration across all teams to maintain an excellent standard of care.

  • After qualifying period & subject to terms and conditions and/or eligibility and will be pro rata dependant on contract type or length of contract.
Your day-to-day duties will include
  • Streamlining Operations: Design and refine policies and processes that boost productivity and service quality.
  • Leading Teams: Inspire and support a diverse team—including remote and field-based staff—by fostering a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement.
  • Driving Performance: Monitor KPIs and quality metrics to identify trends, improve outcomes, and ensure services are person-centred and well-led.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with clinical, compliance, and admin to align operations with strategic goals and regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and risk mitigation through robust systems and planning.
  • Championing Innovation: Lead continuous improvement initiatives and embed quality assurance across all service areas.
  • Reporting & Insights: Present clear, actionable performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting successes, risks, and opportunities.
  • Empowering Remote Work: Implement tools and strategies that support effective communication, collaboration, and engagement across remote teams.
  • Resource Planning: Oversee national workforce planning for 140+ staff, ensuring optimal resource allocation and future-readiness.
  • On-Call Leadership: Participate in the on-call rota to provide operational support beyond standard hours.
The hours
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm* as you will be supporting a team that works across a rota between the hours of 6am and 10pm Monday – Friday and 8am – 6pm weekends and bank holidays, flexibility is required with this role
  • On call hours will be required on a rota basis for this role
  • Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday)
  • Full time, Temporary Maternity Cover contract – 9 months minimum with the possibility of extension.
Requirements
What we need you to have
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior operational leadership role, demonstrating strong people management and service delivery oversight
  • A confident leader with experience managing remote and field-based teams, driving performance and engagement.
  • A strong communicator who builds trust, influences effectively, and collaborates across all levels.
  • Highly organised, with a proven track record in managing complex operations and resource planning.
  • Data-savvy, with the ability to analyse trends and make informed, strategic decisions.
  • Calm under pressure, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a focus on service continuity.
  • Clear and professional in both written and verbal communication.
  • Tech-confident, with solid skills in Microsoft Office and operational tools like resource planning and performance dashboards.
  • Reliable and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to team success.
What We’d Like You To Have
  • Background in resource planning or workforce management, ideally in healthcare or a service-led environment.
  • Comfortable using digital tools that support remote working, team collaboration, and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with CQC inspections or audits, with a good understanding of regulatory standards and evidence gathering.
