Job summary

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Cemetery Operative to join the Corporate Assets team. The role involves grave preparation, assisting the Sexton with digging and general grounds maintenance across council cemeteries, parks and allotments.

Applicants with cemetery or grounds maintenance experience, or those willing to undertake the Cemetery Operative Training Scheme, are encouraged to apply. The council offers generous holidays, flexi-time and the LGPS.

Qualifications

• Experience in cemetery or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Certificate under the Cemetery Operative Training Scheme or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Support the Sexton with grave preparation using digger or hand tools.
