Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Community Engagement Social Worker to safeguard and support children and young people at risk of exploitation. You will deliver direct one-to-one interventions, build trusted relationships, and work with families and partner agencies to ensure a coordinated, child-centered approach.

The role requires handling cases with care, maintaining accurate records, and using digital tools to support casework.

Qualifications

• Experience safeguarding and working with at-risk children.
• Proven ability to deliver targeted interventions.
• Strong collaboration with families and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

• Delivering direct one-to-one interventions with children and young people
• Building and maintaining positive professional relationships with those at risk
• Effectively managing and prioritising a varied caseload
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records with strong attention to detail
• Handling sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
• Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support the child’s needs
• Using digital systems and tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Teams) to support casework and communication
