A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Personal assistant required for a lady living in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff to support out in the community and within her own home.

Last July she suffered a Haemorrhagic stroke causing left side paralysis. She is unable to walk unaided or stand for long periods of time. She uses her wheelchair when out in the community for longer distances. Her speech and memory can also be affected when she is tired.

HOURS OF WORK

Up to 10 hrs per week with the possibility of these hours increasing

Hours to be covered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and over weekends.

Flexible working hours to be discussed.

RATE OF PAY

£14.80

TASKS INVOLVED

• Support with styling her hair
• Support out in the community e.g. going shopping, out for a coffee, going to the gym etc
• Support with attending appointments
• Some support required getting in and out of the car

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• Reliable
• Caring/Trustworthy/Compassionate
• Friendly and Sociable
• Car driver is essential
• Non smoker is preferred
• Experience or good knowledge of strokes or neurological conditions is also desirable.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
