Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a passionate Chef de Partie to join the catering team at the GSK site in Stevenage. You will contribute to a busy kitchen serving around 600 lunchtime covers, ensuring high standards of presentation, taste, and portion control.

Take responsibility for a designated section, work with the Sous and Head Chef, and help maintain food safety, HACCP compliance, and smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification such as City & Guilds Level 1-2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Food Safety Level 2-3.
• Allergen awareness.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, food storage and allergen control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes to recipes and agreed standards.
• Take responsibility for your designated kitchen section.
• Ensure preparation is completed ahead of service.
• Ensure dishes are ready for 8:00am breakfast and 11:30am lunch service.
• Maintain high standards of taste, presentation and portion control.
• Monitor stock levels within your section and highlight shortages.
• Support with receiving and checking deliveries.
• Rotate stock using FIFO principles and help minimise food waste.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Prevent cross-contamination and maintain safe food handling practices.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and work station.
• Complete daily temperature records, cleaning schedules and allergen documentation.
• Report technical faults, safety concerns and incidents to your line manager.
• Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to support smooth kitchen operations.
• Attend mandatory training, daily briefs and weekly team huddles.
• Support the wider catering team with reasonable additional duties when required.
• Work flexibly to support business needs.

Chef de Partie | GSK, Stevenage, Gunnels Wood Road, Herts, SG1 2NY

At Sodexo, you'll belong in a team where great food, creativity and exceptional service come together. We're looking for a passionate and experienced Chef de Partie to join our catering team at the GSK site in Stevenage.

You'll take responsibility for a designated section of the kitchen, preparing and cooking high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, presentation and portion control. You'll work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef as part of a busy kitchen operation serving around 600 lunchtime covers.

You'll be part of a team of four chefs, one Food Service Assistant and two Kitchen Porters, delivering a varied food offer including traditional and bistro-style meals, street food and a salad bar.

What you'll do

What you'll bring

• Good physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift stock, carry trays and undertake repetitive tasks
