Job summary

Halton Borough Council is seeking a vigilant CCTV Operator to monitor public spaces from the Control Room and work with the CCTV team to deter crime and support police and other emergency services.

You will respond promptly to incidents, direct resources, and assist in identifying offenders to help reduce antisocial behaviour and protect residents, businesses and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience of security operations.
• Good oral & written skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work.
• Willingness to pursue further training in CCTV system operation and related systems.

Our Team

The CCTV Operator is an essential part of Halton’s Community Safety team responsible for the continuous monitoring of public spaces via the Council’s Control Room. Working closely with the CCTV Supervisor and CCTV Manager, you will play a direct role in protecting public areas, deterring crime, and supporting the police and other emergency services. By responding swiftly to incidents, directing resources, and assisting in identifying offenders, you will help to reduce anti-social behaviour and enhance public safety, giving peace of mind to Halton’s residents. This role requires a vigilant, proactive, and dedicated individual who is ready to make a real difference in the community. As a first point of contact for a range of incidents, you will be central to creating a safer environment for our residents, businesses and visitors.

Your Contributions

You must have a good general standard of education to include English. In addition you will have:

• Experience of security operations

• Willingness to pursue further training in the field of CCTV system operation and related systems
