Key Responsibilities

Are you a shrewd evaluator of risk? Are you able to distill complex problems down to their key drivers? Do you know how make the right call in challenging situations?

We’re looking for a CCP Risk Manager to:

  • Develop a framework for the identification of key risks by clearing venue, such as member default risk, member concentration risk, contagion effects, auction risk and CCP insolvency
  • Perform detailed CCP rulebook analyses and highlight UBS requirements and alternatives in responding to CCP member default events, such as participating in auctions and porting client portfolios
  • Develop and manage a group-wide CCP crisis management framework, including the development and maintenance of tools to support decision making in complex scenarios, such as optimal bidding strategy in a default auction
  • Develop a scalable simulation tool prototype to help supporting scenario analysis and decision making in a crisis scenario
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of the risk/reward trade-offs of UBS's CCP relationships
  • Provide transparent risk reporting to management and other internal units

The team

You’ll be working in the CCP Risk & Financial Resource Management team in London, and be expected to partner with our colleagues across Global Markets and Credit Risk Control. The team sits within IB President’s Office and is responsible for measuring and managing the commercial risks that arise from interfacing with CCPs and 3rd party brokers. This benefits our continued, sustainable growth in partnership with our clients and Sales colleagues. As a CCP Risk Manager, you’ll play an important role in establishing and developing our newly created front-line team.

Your Skills And Experience
  • 2 to 5 years' experience working at or with CCPs or a Clearing Firm, ideally in a risk management capacity, or in a role with considerable exposure to listed derivatives products
  • Broad product knowledge of derivatives. Able to understand, quantify and summarise key risks for futures and option contracts across the full spectrum of asset classes
  • Fluency in main financial risk management models, such as stress testing and Value at Risk
  • Highly organised, hands‑on and proactive, capable of distilling vast amounts of qualitative information into a quantitative framework to support decision making
  • Well-versed in the field of data science: ability to envisage a scalable solution to complex data interpretation problems. Coding ability a strong differentiator
  • Desirable experience / areas of interest: market design, game theory, financial markets regulation
  • Bachelor, Master degree or equivalent
  • Fluent in English
