Job summary

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or above qualification
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) to grade 'C' or above
• Experience of working in a primary school or with young children is desirable

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering educational activities
• Provide support to individual students and small groups
• Encourage children's engagement with the curriculum and foster a positive learning environment
• Monitor and record children's progress, sharing observations with the class teacher
• Help manage classroom resources and set up for lessons
• Support the class teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining classroom discipline
• Participate in school meetings and professional development sessions as required
