Job summary

The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse role at Barts Health NHS Trust leads the Cath Lab nursing team, delivering safe, efficient and compassionate care for cardiac patients.

You will provide visible leadership, support governance, drive quality improvement, workforce planning, and on-call coverage 365 days a year, 24/7, in collaboration with Consultants and Matrons to sustain clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Senior nurse with cardiology leadership experience.
• Experience in governance, audit and quality improvement.
• Ability to manage staffing and resource utilisation.
• On-call duties including 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Cath Lab nursing team and provide strategic clinical leadership.
• Support staffing, workforce planning and resource utilisation.
• Oversee governance, audit, quality improvement and risk management.
• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care in elective and emergency cardiac services.
• Collaborate with Matron, Consultants and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow.
