Job summary

you will have an opportunity to rotate internally between Cardiology Intervention, Electrophysiology & Structural in order to develop a full range of skills and be supported with in house training. We have created exciting opportunities for experienced Cath Lab nurses to develop clinically in advanced nursing practices such as Implantable Loop recorders Implantations, Nurse-Led Sedation and Valve loader. You will be expected to take an active role in helping us to continuously improve our patient centred care. Excellent communication skills are essential with a proven ability to support; mentor & line manage junior staff. Part of the country's largest Heart centre, the Education, training and development are an important philosophy of the units and access is provided to courses both in-house and at partner universities. There are multiple roles and reserve lists may be maintained.

Main duties of the job

To work within the cath lab multidisciplinary team to provide care to critically ill patients in a complex acute environment. To supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as required and maintain own personal development with support. To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide high quality nursing care to the patient and their families, in accordance with agreed Trust and local policies. Our cath lab has its own dedicated Education Sister who supports all staff in their development and works closely with new starters.
