Job summary

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for Zouch Primary School in Tidworth, Sailsbury. The role is term-time only, 38 weeks per year, with 30 hours per week and a pay rate of £14.50 per hour.

The Chef Manager will lead food prep, ensure compliance with Health and Safety, manage budgets, supervise staff and liaise with the client to drive service excellence. DBS disclosure is required, and the role offers a flexible educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a catering site, preferably in schools.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• Ability to lead a team and manage budgets and KPIs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and staff development.

Responsibilities

• To prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure the location meets statutory and company Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements.
• Maintain Caterlink’s reputation for excellent food and service with client and customers.
• Oversee day-to-day running, supervise teams, inventories, budgets, and action plans.
• Be the main point of contact for the client at the school, implementing improvements.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Support and train teams, lead from the front to ensure training is completed and performance is managed.

We are opening a new kitchen and looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Chef Manager who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food to operate and manage this site. This role is based at Zouch Primary School in Tidworth, Sailsbury working term-time only and no weekends so is great for those looking for flexibility.

The role:

• £14.50 per hour
• 30 hours per week working Monday - Friday
• Term-time only - working 38 weeks per year

Your key responsibilities will include:

• To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
• To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
• To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded
• To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the location and supervising teams including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• To be the main point of contact for our client in your school ensuring that regular adjustments and improvements are both recommended and implemented
• Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets to ensure these are achieved
• Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role by ensuring all training is completed and performance is managed
